Glee star Lea Michele will voice Dorothy Gale in Summertime Entertainment’s animated musical, Dorothy of Oz.

Producer Bonne Radford says Michele is, “Our Judy Garland.” On trying the story out in animation Radford believes, “It will take the Wizard of Oz to places it has never been able to go before.”

Oz is actually a step away from the world Garland originally made famous as it is based on Roger Baum’s children’s chapter book. Baum is the great-grandson of L. Frank Baum, author of Wizard of Oz.

Michele is expected to sing a number of songs and Bryan Adams will write songs for the movie.
